Job Summary
Design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and deliver data networking hardware, software, and systems solutions for the Naval Air Systems Command. Provide direct support to the government program office on new network technology enabling evolving missions, while analyzing integration and test data to resolve hardware design and tactical operations issues. Coordinate interdisciplinary solutions with government and contractor partners, including the Navy Network Design Facility. Participate in technical conferences and partner meetings to bring advanced technologies to NAVAIR. Requires a Secret clearance (Top Secret within six months), two years of technical experience, and moderate travel to test sites and conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Coursework in engineering technology from an ETAC-accredited program, or in physical sciences from a regionally-accredited college or university
- A minimum of two (2) years of technical experience, which may include university design competitions, research participation, part-time assistantships, and college hackathons
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Must be able to obtain a final DoD Top Secret security clearance within six months of start date
- Active or current Secret clearance
- On-site location in Lexington Park, MD
- Moderate (10% to 25%) travel to government and contractor facilities, test sites, or technical meetings and conferences
- Flexible working hours including standard government work hour support and surge support during integration and test phases
- Troubleshooting and fault isolation
- Coordinating solutions among diverse teams
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or in physical sciences from a regionally-accredited college or university
- IP-based tactical data links such as Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT)
- Time slot-based data links such as Link 16
- Active top secret security clearance
