Job Summary
Network Systems Administrator role in a HYBRID capacity serving Cedar Park, TX (Austin area) across enterprise network infrastructures, telephony systems, and related IT equipment. Responsibilities include administering and maintaining network enterprise infrastructure (switches, routers, wireless access points, cabling), monitoring performance and incidents, designing and implementing multi-server Windows and Linux environments (IP schemes, DNS, EtherChannel), security administration (firewall review, content filtering, log collection), VoIP/SIP telephony design and deployment, DNS/DHCP/IPAM management, supporting hybrid connectivity with cloud integration, project management and capacity planning, VPN and remote access management, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, ticket tracking and documentation, and contributing to security and reliability improvements across multiple sites. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in IT/Networking or equivalent, 2 years in network admin/IT support, strong networking concepts (LAN/WAN, DNS, VPN, IP, VLANs), VPN and firewall experience, VoIP familiarity, monitoring tool experience, and willingness to travel. Preferred: Zabbix/SNMP monitoring, Windows Server with AD, Linux familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 2 years of experience in network administration, IT support, or a related technical role
- Thorough understanding of networking concepts including, but not limited to LANs, WANs, DNS, security, routing protocols, VPNs, IP protocols, VLANs, subnetting, and related technologies
- Subject matter expertise with LAN and WAN technologies and common network administration tasks, including NAT, ACLs, routing protocols, switching, firewall rules, and related configurations
- Experience with VPN technologies and basic firewall administration
- Experience with VoIP and Call Center design, troubleshooting and configuration
- Familiarity with essential network monitoring tools
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to quickly identify, isolate, and resolve network connectivity and hardware problems
- Ability to travel to various work locations as business need requires
- Experience with platforms such as Zabbix, SNMP-based monitoring
- Experience with Windows Server environments and basic Active Directory administration
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
