Network Support and Systems Specialist

Job Summary
Manage and secure the credit union's Hybrid IT network infrastructure by configuring systems, enforcing security policies, and conducting vulnerability assessments to prevent threats. Monitor network traffic, implement patching and backup protocols, and troubleshoot desktop support issues for PCs, printers, and peripherals. Assist in WAN communications planning, interface with vendors on software/hardware implementation, and resolve data processing problems while maintaining strict industry compliance. Review suspicious activity, escalate incidents per guidelines, and participate in short-term and strategic long-term departmental planning.
Required Qualifications
- Four to five years of similar or related experience
- A bachelor's degree
- Achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. Networking Certification and/or information technology certifications in lieu of a degree - MCSE, Azure, AWS)
- Ability to understand and manage the impact of technical issues and processes within the context of information security and risk management
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels of technical proficiency
- Ability to work independently and travel as needed, while efficiently using general office equipment
- Must be able to lift boxes of up to 25 Lbs
- Must be able to sit for long periods
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in the use of VMware, Azure, DELL and SonicWall Systems
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing best practices
- Knowledge in the areas of information security, IS auditing, data processing operations
- Ability to quickly assimilate and take advantage of new technologies
- Ability to quickly assimilate technology, including networking, firewalls, switches, and systems management in a hybrid IT environment
