Job Summary
Network Operations Engineer at Pico Global responsible for maintaining the operational stability of PicoNet, a global, multi-vendor, multi-technology trading network across 40+ locations. Role involves diagnosing root causes, incident management, monitoring network health, implementing changes per change management policy, client-facing support within SLAs, documenting infrastructure and runbooks, and collaborating with global teams. Requires CCNP/CCIE or equivalent, 10 years of experience in enterprise/service provider environments, strong networking knowledge (IPv4, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, OSPFv2, BGPv4, ACLs, NAT, IPSec VPNs), firewall experience, SNMP/Syslog, and automation tooling (Python, Ansible, Git). Hybrid in-office weekly with possible travel across regions; follow-the-sun support model.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in a large enterprise or service provider environment
- CCNP certification (CCIE preferred) or equivalent
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to prioritize and manage own workload
- Experience working within the Financial Industry preferred
- Solid understanding of IPv4 addressing and subnetting
- Experience supporting VLANs and Trunks
- Multiple Spanning Tree protocol
- EtherChannel
- Static routing
- OSPFv2
- BGPv4
- Routing protocol redistribution
- Network traffic engineering using routing policies
- Access Control Lists
- Network Address Translation
- TCP/IP stack and TCP/UDP
- Ability to diagnose root cause of networking issues
- Packet captures analysis
- Experience supporting enterprise firewall platforms
- IPSec VPNs
- SNMP and Syslog
- Automation technologies: Python, Ansible, Git
