Job Summary
Monitor and support large-scale wireless backhaul networks operating worldwide, detecting and triaging network incidents in a 24x7 operations environment. Troubleshoot routing, switching, VPNs, and remote infrastructure while building observability systems using industry-standard tools. Analyze logs and telemetry to improve performance, develop automation with Python and shell scripting, and maintain Linux virtual machines within Google Cloud Platform. Create runbooks and documentation, participate in on-call rotations, and assist deployment teams with site turn-ups. Work onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, with up to 10% travel, supporting the TaaraConnect Free Space Optical Communications program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of network operations, network administration, telecommunications engineering, or related experience supporting production environments
- Strong Linux administration experience, including command-line troubleshooting, scripting, and log analysis
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing and switching, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and related protocols
- Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and incident management skills
- Ability to work onsite in Sunnyvale and participate in shift schedules, after-hours support, and on-call rotations
- Valid U.S. passport and authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or similar networking certifications
- Experience with automation, version control, and configuration management
- SQL database experience
- Experience with optical transport, microwave, RF, or Free Space Optical Communications technologies
- Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, or other incident management platforms
