Job Summary
Design and execute network roadmaps aligned with organizational strategy while maintaining up time, availability, and security posture at established thresholds. Lead a team of technical engineers to optimize network services, guide reference architecture development, and migrate from legacy to modern technologies using solid life cycle management. Provide direction to development, customer, and business groups on infrastructure and security standards, ensuring total scalability and performance across the enterprise. Consult on major initiatives to solve complex technical problems and partner with architects to build a cohesive architecture practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business
- 7+ years of IT experience
- at least 8 years with infrastructure architecture
- at least 6 years of experience in large scale technology architecture definition
- 3+ years of experience in developing architecture road maps, reference architectures, and evangelizing adoption of architecture principles in the design and delivery of technology solutions
- Extensive technical knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN), networks components (LAN/WAN), network security and technologies
- Strong understanding of wireless technologies such as LTE, Digital Microwave, Radio Frequency (RF) propagation, and Spectrum Usage
- strong understanding of fiber technologies such as MPLS, DWDM, and GPON technologies
- Understanding of Cloud technologies and principles
- Extensive experience in HA/DR design, deployment strategies, and principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- demonstrated ability to present complex ideas to business and IT executives in a simplified way
- Experience mentoring technical and solution architects in good design principles
- Must have the desire to understand the needs of internal business stakeholders
