Job Summary
Network Literacy Coach provides daily in-building support to illuminators, modeling effective literacy practices, and uses data to inform instruction across Capital Preparatory Schools. Works with NYC Charter Literacy Consortium (CLC) partners to implement best literacy practices network-wide, develops and delivers professional development, coaches NY and CT schools (Bronx, Harlem, New Rochelle, Bridgeport), conducts regular observations and data analysis to drive literacy improvements, helps shape ELA curriculum resources, and leads grant-related activities and reporting. Role requires instructional leadership, CCSS/ELA expertise, data-driven decision making, collaboration with administrators and educators, and in-person responsibilities; grant-funded, 12-month position with travel to NY/CT campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Significant teaching and instructional leadership experience required (including at least 5-7 years of successful classroom teaching and instructional leadership)
- Administrative credential or certificate of eligibility, preferred
- Master’s in Education or related field, preferred
- Charter school experience, a plus
- Knowledge of CCSS and NY/CT standards/frameworks
- Experience designing, assessing, and curating learner-centered ELA curricular resources
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Data-driven and equity-focused teams facilitation
- Leadership in curriculum adoption and implementation processes
Desired Qualifications
