Job Summary
Network Install Technician/Network Technician 4 — based in the greater southwest Texas region with contingent duties for 24/7 operations. Responsible for designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting wired and wireless LANs, performing site surveys to determine device placement, managing IP space, and ensuring security and availability of IT infrastructure. Tasks include installation, configuration, maintenance of servers and networks, testing to verify performance, documenting enterprise network designs, and providing end-user support. Requires DoD Secret Clearance or Public Trust eligibility, DoD 8570 IAT Level I or II compliance, and typically 6+ years of experience following a high school plus specialized training path; CCNA/CWNP and related certifications are a plus. Must be able to work in a DoD environment, pass drug testing, and meet physical requirements; US citizenship is required. The role may involve shift work and weekend duty; familiarity with Aruba equipment and strong technical writing skills are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- High School plus specialized training, and 6+ yrs of experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I or Level II compliant
- Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade and operations
- Knowledge of TR, CAT6, crimps, and wiring standards; BICSI certification is a plus
- Aruba networking equipment experience is a plus
- US citizenship; eligibility to access sensitive information
- Ability to gain DoD Secret Clearance or Public Trust clearance
