Job Summary
Design, deploy, and escalate problem resolution for a large service provider network infrastructure; perform daily environment checkouts and changes; construct valid configurations for implementation; support deployment and maintenance of Firewalls, network switches, routers, and other network appliances; apply configuration changes via change control systems; peer review configurations; participate in on-call rotation; troubleshoot internal and external customer issues related to changes; collaborate with network engineering to design client-specific connectivity solutions; provide mentoring and guidance to team members; leverage Fortinet, Cisco, Arista, and Nexus hardware; IPSec VPN, NAT, and firewall policy; BGP routing; TCP/UDP; multicast; Ansible, Linux, Python; strong communication and coordination skills; remote/hybrid work setup with occasional travel; New York-based role with global scope and latency-focused requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 10-14 years' experience deploying and supporting Firewall and Network equipment in a service provider environment or a large-scale Enterprise network
- Experience with Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Arista, and Nexus hardware and software
- Strong knowledge of IPSec VPN, NAT and firewall policy
- Highly proficient in routing protocols: BGP
- Knowledge of TCP, UDP and upper layer protocols
- Multicast experience will be preferred
- Experience with cross-connectivity to high-speed, ultra-low latency financial markets and venues
- Familiarity with Ansible, Linux, Python
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and effectively lead to system recovery
- Clear verbal and written communicator
- Diligent and highly detail orientated
- Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing and managing own workload
- Capable of working with little supervision
- Creative thinker with out of the box ideas
- Keen to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop
- Understanding of JIRA as a ticketing system
