Job Summary
Hands-on Network Field Service Engineer responsible for installing and commissioning network switches, configuring Juniper wireless and switching, diagnosing wired network issues, maintaining network availability, on-site support at the Preston campus, liaising with vendors, and handling on-call Priority 1/2 incidents while delivering excellent customer service and keeping records in the ITSM system.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing IT support or network support role
- Hands-on experience with network switches and related infrastructure
- Knowledge of Juniper switching and wireless technologies
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network-related issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in on-call rota
- Experience working in fast-paced operational settings
- Comfortable with on-site, campus-network environments
