Job Summary
Install and maintain CPE LANs, WiFi networks, and optical network terminals while performing fiber testing, splicing, and troubleshooting from the main distribution frame to the demarcation point. Execute Outside Plant facility installations per work orders, conduct preventive maintenance on distribution systems, and respond to trouble tickets within company standards. Locate cabling, document system changes, and manage inventory replenishment requests. Work in various weather conditions and perform on-call rotation duties after regular hours. Requires DOT and OSHA certifications, ability to operate a bucket truck, and physical stamina for climbing ladders and lifting 75 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One to two years in the telecommunications industry or related experience
- Physical ability to work in various conditions including, but not limited to adverse weather conditions
- Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods of time
- Physical ability to climb ladders with proper equipment up to 25 feet
- Able to lift and carry loads of up to 75lbs including ladder
- Ability to work with basic hand tools and other specialized equipment with training
- Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally including a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified bucket truck and trailer
- Available to work overtime when deemed necessary, may include holidays and weekends
- Willingness to work as a team and independently
