Job Summary
Design, administer, and maintain foundational network platforms including wide area networks, campus environments, disaster recovery, contact centers, cloud, security, and wireless solutions. Provide second-level technology support to the IT Service Desk, conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis for business applications, and manage work order queues to ensure timely service delivery. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement technology solutions, recommend optimized network designs, and drive continuous improvement through proactive problem identification. Resolve IT work orders in accordance with established standards while planning and executing network initiatives aligned with organizational methodologies. This full-time, permanent hybrid role based at Vancity head office requires on-site presence for events and branch travel.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and administering enterprise network infrastructure
- Experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networking, VPN technologies, and network security solutions
- Strong understanding of network architecture, performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices
- Experience supporting cloud networking environments and hybrid infrastructure solutions
- Knowledge of infrastructure lifecycle management, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices
- Experience working with vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional technology teams
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely handle and transport IT equipment, including lifting and installing hardware at branch locations
- Work authorization in Canada for the duration of employment
- Reside within the Lower Mainland
- Ability to travel to branch locations as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Azure Networking, Network+, or equivalent
- Experience supporting financial services or other highly regulated environments
- Experience with network automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code practices
- Familiarity with cloud networking services within Microsoft Azure environments
