Job Summary
Support 4 regional labs and 10 regional offices with PC, software, printer, and wireless networking assistance, while understanding router and firewall concepts to request changes from management. Provide end-user training, troubleshooting, and collaborative meeting space support using a ticketing system. Assist with lab equipment modernization to integrate with the CoreOne LIMS system. Travel 3-4 times weekly, including overnight stays, with a state vehicle and gas card provided. Maintain the assigned vehicle through state fleet services and adhere to a 40-hour weekly schedule with overtime approval required. Submit weekly receipts for reimbursable meals and incidentals per DOA State Travel Policy.
Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Clean driving record
- Advanced computer skills related to personal computer, PC peripherals and network technical support
- Experience supporting workstations, peripherals, printers and basic networking
- Understanding of how to request changes from VITA and their management regarding routers, switches, and firewalls
- Experience working with a IT Service Management ticketing system for work prioritization and internal customer contacts
- Experience providing general end user PC support, training, and questions with a friendly and supportive demeanor
- Advanced customer relations skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to control and manage several projects simultaneously
- Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS outlook
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Commitment to an IN PERSON IV
- Residence within the US for the duration of the assignment
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Contracting company covers workers comp claims

- Expertise related to advanced network administration concepts (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.)
