Job Summary
Network Engineer responsible for day-to-day operations and support of datacenter networks, providing Tier-2 escalation support, 24/7 operations support, and involvement in network design, configuration, and implementation of datacenter networks. Performs monitoring and troubleshooting of WAN/LAN, security devices (firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers), and related servers; collaborates with cross-functional teams to isolate network anomalies and implement corrective actions while ensuring performance meets design requirements and throughput targets. Requires hands-on experience with Cisco hardware, Windows Server, VMware, SNMP/TACACS/LACP/TCP/NTP/DHCP/DNS/VTP, SSL offloading, encryptors, and project-management capabilities; strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills; capable of managing multiple projects in a manufacturing environment. First-floor open office setting with potential travel for system implementations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a computer science or related field OR equivalent experience
- Two plus year in related Computer Science or related field
- Two plus years in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
- MCSE/MCITP Certification or equivalent knowledge
- Security+ Certification
- Minimum five years of experience that includes network operational support, hands-on implementation and configuration of network devices such as servers, switches, routers, firewalls, NICs, associated software tools and desktop computers in a LAN/WAN environment
- Knowledgeable of MS Windows Server, MS Exchange, MS Office products, VMware
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of Cisco hardware
- Design or operations experience with encryptors, tunnels, load balancers, SSL offloading, & firewalls
- Practical knowledge of SNMP, TACACS, LACP,TCP, NTP, DHCP, DNS, VTP, and routing protocols
- XML experience
- Drafting skills
- Analytical/problem solving skills

- Good organizational and time management skills
- Training/presentation skills
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes/principles
- Working knowledge of production schedule and inventory systems
