Job Summary
Network Engineer position supporting a federal government client with an emphasis on design, engineering, and troubleshooting of multi-enclave enterprise networks. Responsibilities include gathering user network requirements, documenting system and security requirements, installing and evaluating network systems, resolving complex LAN/WAN issues, conducting network architecture design and feasibility studies, leveraging internetworking knowledge to improve current designs, and contributing to network service improvements. Requires active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and CI polygraph; 6+ years of network engineering experience; strong experience with Cisco routing platforms (ASRs) and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE); proficiency in Layer 2 technologies (STP, MST, VLANS); senior-level engineering capabilities; and excellent communication skills. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, CCNA or higher, federal intelligence community experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI
- CI polygraph test administered on-site
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing network solutions
- Experience with Cisco routing platforms (ASRs)
- Hands-on knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE)
- Hands-on knowledge of Layer 2 technologies (STP, MST, VLANS)
- Experience providing Tier 3 support and senior-level engineering support
- Experience with network design and traffic engineering
- Large enterprise environment experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (preferred)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher (preferred)
- Experience in federal intelligence community (preferred)
- Disciplined troubleshooting methodology
