Network Engineer

Job Summary

Design, develop, integrate, test, field, and sustain tactical network capabilities for PAE Fires air defense weapon systems, covering LAN and WAN performance, secure information exchange, and COMSEC integration. Plan and execute network and data link tests to assess current and future operations. Analyze requirements documents, interpret technical needs, and manage supplier network solutions for battlefield data dissemination. Configure, install, troubleshoot, and operate network topology integrating sensors, effectors, and fire control systems. Oversee information classification, encryption, and auditability while supporting technology refresh and obsolescence management of COTS components. Troubleshoot simulated and real-world communication issues and develop technical documentation. Prepare and present findings, reports, and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders. Work within a multidisciplinary team to achieve program goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant network engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with LAN and WAN design, switching and routing, and network troubleshooting, particularly within defense environments
  • Experience with tactical network solutions, including their design, integration, and sustainment in support of weapon system operations
  • Working knowledge of network security, information assurance, and IAVA and RMF compliance
  • Familiarity with cryptographic and COMSEC devices and secure data transfer across classification domains
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and defense requirements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance (with TS/SCI eligibility)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (for example, computer science or information technology)

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Previous experience working in or supporting a U.S. Government Program Office
  • Industry networking certifications such as CCNA or CCNP
  • Experience with cross-domain solutions, Army tactical networks and their components
  • Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and PAE Fires air defense programs
