Job Summary
Network Engineer position in Mason, OH responsible for planning, configuring, and operating enterprise networking services and systems. Core duties include configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and security practices; maintaining desktops, laptops, VMs, printers, and phones; user account administration and LDAP groups; asset management and procurement; creating and maintaining documentation; supporting IT infrastructure through patching and physical maintenance; collaborating with facilities and vendors to resolve issues; and providing after-hours on-call support. Desired qualifications include DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) and preferred credentials such as Top Secret clearance, CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, Windows/Linux experience, VMware ESXi, and ITSM tools, with prior government contractor exposure. The role requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT (or related field) and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications

- Network Fundamentals: Routers, switches, and how packets travel through a network
- Network Access: VLANs, trunking, and basic wireless architectures
- IP Connectivity & Services: Routing protocols (like OSPF), DHCP, DNS, and NAT
- Security Fundamentals: Basic threat defense, ACLs, and device hardening
- Automation and Programmability: Basic software-defined networking, REST APIs, and configuration management tools
- Ability to perform initial issue triage, troubleshoot, and resolve service interruptions
- Timely and professional communication across all channels
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (ex. Security+ CE), or ability to obtain within 2 months of start date
