Job Summary
The Network Engineer will support core network infrastructure devices, providing troubleshooting and on-site support, and driving improvements in network architecture. Responsibilities include designing, documenting, implementing, maintaining, and operating an evolving network architecture while managing operational and security-related updates. The role involves leading deployment planning for network system upgrades, interfacing with Tier 2 for issue escalation, and providing training and mentorship to team personnel. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and substantial experience, including a strong proficiency in network technologies and security clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field
- 8-15 years of relevant experience
- Active and current Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in network infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience of Juniper SSR architecture and configuration
- Expertise in SD-WAN technologies and implementation
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco IOS/IOS-XE operating systems
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
- Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking
- Familiarity with network automation tools
- Proven track record in SD-Wan solutions
- Familiarity with WAN optimizing
- Understanding and implementing QoS
- Proficient knowledge of network engineering, network architecture, and network automation
- Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
- Familiarity with VoIP and unified communications technologies
- Understanding of containerization and microservices architectures
