Network Engineer III (Extreme Networks)

Job Summary
Lead complex network design, upgrade, and implementation projects for customers by creating High-Level and Low-Level Designs, configuring Extreme Networks platforms, and troubleshooting routing protocols like BGP and OSPF. Act as the technical lead on engagements, serving as a third-level resource for support engineers and collaborating with Account and Prime SE teams. Build automation templates for equipment roll-outs and manage customer-facing communications while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in a field support, professional services or a technical support role
- Heavy experience with Juniper routers and switches and migrations from VPLS to EVPN with knowledge of Juniper Apstra to deploy EVPN
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2, Layer 3 routing protocols MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF etc.
- Ability to use scripting to configure networking devices
- Strong knowledge of security protocols
- Data Center routing and switching experience required
- Excellent computing skills, including Linux
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize customer support tools/resources
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Extreme commitment to customer service and enhancing the customer experience
- Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment
- Must be located in Wisconsin (preferred) or nearby states, such as Minnesota, Iowa, or Illinois
- Must be available for frequent travel to Wisconsin to perform work at onsite customer locations
- Estimated amount of travel is 30% - 50% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Deep expertise in Extreme Networks technologies
- Juniper routers and switches (EX, MX, SRX)
- HPE Aruba routers, switches and wireless including Aruba Central, AOS-CX, Clearpass
- Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls
- Ability to build templates for automation of equipment roll-outs by other staff members
- Ability to work with Account team as SE support as SME when needed
- Ability to work with prime SE on network designs
- Be a 3rd level resource for our Tech Support engineers
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong account management and customer communication skills
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
