Job Summary
Level 2 Network Engineer responsible for resolving Tier 2 incidents across LAN/WAN, wireless, and VPN; performs advanced troubleshooting, independently deploys and maintains Fortinet devices per standards; supports SD-WAN and FortiNAC, coordinates with vendors, and mentors Level 1 engineers while improving network documentation and SOPs; participates in maintenance windows and after-hours support; requires ability to travel to retail locations and work in fast-paced environments.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years IT networking or network support
- Strong knowledge of Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiNAC)
- Experience troubleshooting multi-site networks
- Proficient in firewall concepts and VPN fundamentals
- Ability to travel to retail locations as needed
- Two or more professional certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, Network+)
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more professional networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE)
- 2–5 years IT networking or network support experience
- Fortinet technologies experience (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiNAC)
- Experience with FortiManager and PRTG or similar monitoring tools
- SD-WAN knowledge and troubleshooting
- Strong documentation and ticketing skills
- Ability to travel to retail locations as needed (occasional)
- Experience mentoring Level 1 engineers or junior staff
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, wireless concepts
- Experience with firewall concepts, NAT, VPN fundamentals
