Network Engineer II

Job Summary
Implement and support the corporate network infrastructure by designing scalable global architectures and configuring complex L2/L3 switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers. Maintain all network documentation, perform IOS code upgrades, and leverage monitoring tools to analyze traffic patterns for proactive issue identification and capacity planning. Manage SD-WAN networks, ISP connectivity, and IP address management while ensuring 24/7 stability through rotating after-hours coverage. Work with multiple vendors on feature enhancements and design strategies. This role requires 3-5 years of experience with Cisco technologies and protocols like BGP and OSPF, with a Bachelor's degree in IT. Candidates must be ready for rotational shifts in Mumbai to support global operations.
Required Qualifications
- 3 - 5+ years related work experience preferably in a professional services environment
- Experience with Cisco Nexus L2/L3 switching technology
- Protocols EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, IPSEC, VPN, NAT, 802.1Q, 802.11, LACP, Spanning-tree, UDLD, BPDU, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DNS
- Experience with Cisco 4500, 3850, ASR/ISR routers and Nexus 7K/9K's
- Must possess a thorough understanding of Network Infrastructure and security topology
- Knowledge and/or experience configuring and supporting Cisco ASA firewalls
- VPN, IPS/IDS and Palo Alto
- Experience with Cisco wireless technology and LAN controllers
- Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Site24x7), SNMP, Wireshark
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to conduct research into network issues and products as required
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent streams
- Cisco certifications in Routing, switching and/or Wireless
- Candidates must be ready to work 5 days a week from Mumbai office
- Candidates should be ready to work in rotational schedules / shifts and supporting 24x7 operations
Desired Qualifications
- IP telephony a plus
- Any prior experience Cisco ACS, Radius, TACACS, Prime or ISE
- Experience with Zscaler and/or F5 load balancers very desirable
- web URL filtering is a plus but not required
