Job Summary
Collaborate with senior engineers, vendors, and consultants to resolve technical issues and investigate operational problems affecting Iridium's Gateway subsystems. Assist in the operation and maintenance of remote monitoring and management systems, including script updates, alert response, and dashboard reviews. Investigate and resolve Tier 2 customer tickets while partnering with the Operations team to enhance maintenance procedures and improve troubleshooting success. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation for Gateway network elements and ensure high-quality products are ready for production deployment. Primarily support the Iridium Certus service suite across on-premise and cloud environments. Be on call to support major network issues and travel up to 10%. This role directly performs under a U.S. government contract, requiring U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience in the telecommunications or a related technical field
- Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat/CentOS), IP network infrastructure, VMware, ATCA platforms, and database systems/tools (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL) from installation through maintenance
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others
- Have confidence and be able to easily build meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team
- Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
- Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others
- Be on call to support major network issues
- Be able to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications
- Any AWS certification (i.e., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, etc.)
- Knowledge of: Communications systems architecture
- Knowledge of: Circuit‐ and packet‐switched voice/data communications
- Knowledge of: TCP/IP communications
- Knowledge of: VoIP systems, including network management
- Experience with IPv4 networks, GSM, telecom systems, or real‐time systems
- Experience with software lifecycle processes
- Experience in software development experience (C, C++, Python)
- Experience in IP network engineering, development, integration, and testing
