Job Summary
Monitor production network health, troubleshoot layer 1-3 issues, and serve as the first point of defense for all network-related incidents requiring 24x7 support. Proactively assess risks, take mitigation actions to ensure quick service restoration, and deliver customer-centric support through multiple channels. Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN endpoints while creating standard operating procedures for network changes management. Perform maintenance and upgrades across edge, backbone, datacenter, and CDN infrastructure, often during evening or weekend shifts. Handle vendor hardware/software issues and support ISP/Partner queries regarding input errors, CRC, and RMA incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university
- 2 to 5 years' related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- full understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, active directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines and software applications
- Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
- Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
- CCNA or equivalent
- Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
- Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
- Must be able to use a computer
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
