Job Summary
Network Engineer onboard a United States Hospital Ship delivering enterprise IT, security, and communications support in a challenging maritime environment. Responsibilities include provisioning and maintaining Cisco routing/switching, network security systems, SATCOM, firewall, VoIP, Wi‐Fi, Palo Alto firewalls, Forescout, Nutanix Acropolis, Windows Server 2019/2022, Red Hat Linux, and medical device interconnectivity; ensure secure, reliable network operation across multiple enclaves; deploy for ship missions and be available for extended periods; license requirements and certifications required at contract award; must obtain/maintain security clearances and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Enterprise level IT administration
- 2 years of Healthcare Informatics administration/support
- Configuration and Provisioning of Edge equipment including switches and wireless controllers and access points
- core and distribution layer switching
- routing with emphasis on OSPF and MPLS
- Firewall Configuration and Provisioning
- Troubleshooting of multiple vendors network technology
- Repair and/or diagnosis of network cabling including copper and fiber optics
- Security systems relating to AAA
- Implementation of Network Management with a focus on compliance, SDWAN, and micro segmentation
- Current IAT II or III certification (CompTIA Security+, CISSP)
- Cisco Certification (CCNA, CCNP)
- PaloAlto Certification (NSP, SOP)
- Forescout Certification (FCSA, FCSE)
- Must be able to deploy on short notice for extended periods
- Must be a US Citizen & fluent in English
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs+ and climb ladders
- Must possess a valid U.S. Government SECRET security clearance and be TOP SECRET eligible
- SERE Level B, ISOPREP, Cyber Awareness training within specified windows
- Passport with at least one year remaining before expiration
