Job Summary
Design and implement new network solutions while installing, configuring, and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and third-party appliances like load balancers and VPNs. Maximize performance through ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and arranging scheduled upgrades, ensuring strict adherence to security protocols and firewall rule configurations. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all network configurations and procedures while liaising with vendors and IT personnel to resolve faults. Update equipment to latest firmware releases and provide technical guidance on network diagnostics. This full-time role offers on-site or remote options within a collaborative environment focused on professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of networking hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Solid understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)
- Familiarity with Quality of Service (QoS) configuration and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of network security practices and protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with wireless networking and cloud networking solutions
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for network automation
- Certification in networking (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or Juniper JNCIS)
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
