Job Summary

Design and maintain secure network architectures enforcing Zero Trust principles, including segmentation, micro-segmentation, and least-privilege access controls across core, distribution, access, and edge layers. Implement and harden Cisco-based infrastructure by configuring routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs while managing 802.1X port-based access control and centralized logging to SIEM platforms. Support incident response through network-level analysis, containment actions, and forensic data collection, alongside root cause analysis and vulnerability remediation. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, configuration baselines, and network diagrams. Serve as a technical adviser for complex service desk tickets, collaborating with cloud and cybersecurity teams. Perform real-time monitoring integrations and harden devices using secure configuration baselines. This executive role involves extensive travel and requires a Public Trust Tier 2 clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional network engineering experience in an enterprise Cisco environment
  • Demonstrated experience with 802.1X, VLAN segmentation, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, and firewall management
  • Experience implementing NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-207 aligned controls
  • Experience supporting SIEM log forwarding and vulnerability remediation workflows
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Public Trust Tier 2 clearance
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must obtain favorable FBI criminal history and fingerprint checks conducted through the U.S. Capitol Police
  • Must pass a background check to access the CBO network
  • Must be able to travel extensively
  • Must be able to work flexible hours based on mission requirements
  • Must be able to work in executive settings with frequent engagement at the highest levels of Navy leadership
  • Must be able to use classified communication systems
  • Must be able to talk or hear regularly
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a change-controlled environment
  • Must be able to work in a high-stress decision-making environment
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco enterprise routing and switching
  • Working understanding of Zero Trust architecture and network access control
  • Analytical troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Clear written and verbal communication and documentation discipline
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Must be able to effectively manage the team's quarterly review cycle
