Job Summary
Senior Network Engineer role focused on L3 escalations for Juniper Enterprise and Data-Center switching. You will own complex escalations, act as a customer advocate, perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across software, hardware, and network design layers, reproduce issues in JTAC lab environments, and collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and QA to resolve defects. Drive cross-functional initiatives, contribute to NPI/feature validation, create knowledge base articles, and leverage automation and scripting to improve troubleshooting efficiency. Stay current with next-generation networking technologies and Juniper’s evolving portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics, or related engineering discipline
- 7–10+ years of experience in networking, with strong exposure to enterprise and data-center environments
- Proven experience in technical support, escalation engineering, or advanced operations roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting global customers
- Core Technical Skills: IP networking and protocols (ARP, ICMP, TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP); Layer 2 technologies (xSTP, LACP, VRRP, 802.1X, CoS, QoS); Routing (BGP, OSPF, RIP); Overlays/Virtualization (EVPN, VXLAN); VPNs (L2VPN, L3VPN); Multicast (IGMP)
- Preferred/Value-Add Skills: Scripting & Automation (Python, Perl or Shell); Data-center network design; Networking automation frameworks; Certifications such as JNCIS/JNCIE (Switching/Data-Center)
- Experience with product development collaboration
- Cloud architectures, DevOps, security mindset
