Job Summary
Seasoned Network Architect to lead a multi-site network transformation for a pediatric hospital merger, designing and executing the migration from Cisco ACI to EVPN with a Layer 2 to Layer 3 access transition. Responsibilities include architecting core routing and VLAN standardization, IP address planning and DDI management, implementing Cisco ISE for access control, integrating Palo Alto security, overseeing wireless infrastructure, and collaborating with clinical/operational stakeholders. Mentorship of junior engineers and precise architecture documentation are required to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant network modernization across all campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Active CCIE certification (routing & switching or data center preferred)
- Hands-on experience with both on-premises and hardware-based network environments
- Deep expertise in Cisco ACI and EVPN migration
- Strong background in core-level routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2/Layer 3 architecture
- Experience with Cisco ISE for network access control and policy management
- Proficiency with DDI systems (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and IP address planning
- Experience with wireless controller platforms and enterprise wireless design
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks security platforms and integration into network architectures
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Healthcare IT environment experience or other mission-critical regulated industries (preferred)
- Familiarity with network automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform) (preferred)
- Experience supporting merger-related network integration projects (preferred)
- Knowledge of SD-WAN and cloud networking concepts (preferred)
