Network Administrator (Lumberton)

Job Summary

Design, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and audit network infrastructure including telecom circuits, LANs, WANs, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless equipment. Implement strong security configurations, remediate vulnerabilities, and ensure configuration backups are current. Maintain and analyze networking processes, protocols, and procedures while creating up-to-date infrastructure documentation. Define monitors to ensure network performance and reliability, proactively identifying potential problems and adhering to strict SLAs for mission-critical uptime. Provide 24x7 on-call support as required, follow operational procedures to analyze and remediate critical security incidents, and participate in audits to maintain governmental compliance. Travel up to 40% of the time, including after-hours support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems or equivalent years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience in information technology related experience such as: providing technical support
  • installing and maintaining hardware related to network infrastructure equipment, security or telecommunications software/hardware
  • Travel: Willing to travel up to 40% of the time - After hours support included
  • Skilled in organizing and expressing ideas effectively in oral and written communication
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • 3+ years of experience configuring/supporting network switches, routers, firewalls and wireless devices
  • Extensive knowledge of the following: EIGRP, VoIP, QoS, TCP/UDP, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, NTP
  • Extensive knowledge of network security including: ACL, VLANs, IPSEC, IPS/IDS, DoS, RADIUS
  • Ability to terminate CAT5e/CAT6/CAT7 cabling and fiber optic
  • Experience supporting voice, video, data, and storage networking
  • Proficient with Cisco network devices
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems
  • 4+ years' experience in information technology maintaining LAN/WAN networks
  • Proficient in network cabling infrastructure, preference given to experience terminating and testing fiber optic and copper cabling
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco networking solutions including LAN/WAN, switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, QoS and VPNs
  • Certification in one or more of the following; information security, networking, systems administration or CCNA is highly desired
