Job Summary
The Intermediate Network Administrator will manage network performance and maintain security protocols, troubleshoot complex network issues, and enforce information security procedures compliant with organizational policies. Responsibilities include configuring, installing, and maintaining Layer 2/3 switches, routers, and telecommunication systems, along with training users in network operations. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of experience in network infrastructure solutions are required, along with extensive knowledge of routing protocols and IAT Level II compliance. Additional certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information science, engineering, business, or related scientific or technical discipline or equivalent in accordance with Education/Experience. (Preferred not required)
- Four (4) Years experience in designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining core network infrastructure solutions.
- Extensive working knowledge of routing protocols (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), multicast), VoIP solutions, and cabling services.
- Must meet DoDM 8140.03 (formerly DoD 8570 IAT-II) compliance (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- IAT-II baseline certification requirements IAW DOD 8570.01-M - (Security+ CE, GSEC, or SSCP).
- Computing Environment (CE) Certifications to be determined by government upon final job assignment.
Desired Qualifications
- Additional network certifications.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- An MS or BA/BS in computer sciences or information technology with 2+ additional years of experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Remedy ticketing system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
