Job Summary
Operate Netting lines and extrusion equipment, starting, monitoring, adjusting, and shutting down machines while tracking temperatures, pressures, and production rates. Perform quality checks on film thickness, width, and appearance; document production records, downtime logs, and material usage. Make routine process adjustments to minimize waste and meet established production standards, while assisting with changeovers and basic preventive maintenance. Follow all safety policies, utilize required PPE, and maintain a clean work area in accordance with 5S standards. Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot production equipment
- Ability to read and understand production specifications and work instructions
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement conversions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify product defects
- Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment
- May require overtime, weekend work, and shift work as business needs dictate
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Plastics extrusion experience highly desirable
