Job Summary
Senior Backend .NET API Developer expected to design, build, and optimize secure, scalable backend systems for financial services. Responsibilities include acting on production incident calls, taking end-to-end ownership of API/backend issues, performing rapid debugging and root-cause analysis, driving permanent fixes, and collaborating with QA/DevOps/Infra. Key focus areas include designing RESTful APIs and microservices with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, handling high-volume transactions, ensuring security and regulatory compliance (PCI, SOX), and working on distributed architectures with databases like SQL Server (and NoSQL options). The role emphasizes architecture and leadership in delivering scalable, low-latency backend services for payments, accounts, and transactions, along with mentoring engineers and engaging in Agile/Scrum processes.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of backend development experience
- Strong experience in financial services / banking / fintech domain (mandatory)
- Proven experience building enterprise-grade applications and APIs
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core / .NET 8+ / ASP.NET Core
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, Web APIs, and microservices
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server and database design
- Experience with Entity Framework / ORM tools
- Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture
- Architecture & Cloud experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of API security (OAuth2, JWT, OIDC) and data protection
- Security & Compliance related to financial standards (PCI, SOX, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Experience mentoring/leading engineers
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
