NES Nurse

Nurse in a school setting responsible for implementing health programs, health counseling with students/parents/staff, providing preventive health services, and coordinating with the campus community. Duties include developing and monitoring health care and emergency plans for designated students; supporting students with special health care needs; utilizing nursing process and case management for chronic illnesses; direct health care, emergency first aid, medication administration, and related health services per state laws and HISD policies; conducting mandated screenings, immunization follow-up, and disease control measures; connecting students and families with health resources and access to medical care; delivering age-appropriate health programs with school staff; counseling students and families on health conditions; collaborating with community agencies to implement a comprehensive school health program; performing other duties as assigned.
