Job Summary

NERC Compliance Lead focused on Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards to ensure utilities, power generators, and transmission operators meet reliability requirements. Responsibilities include interpreting NERC standards, leading sessions with business units, overseeing reportability determinations, supporting compliance programs, internal audits and self-certifications, and providing guidance on best practices across operations, engineering, IT, and cybersecurity. Develop compliance reports and metrics, track tasks in compliance tools, and contribute to continuous improvement of controls and risk mitigation. Cross-department collaboration to embed a culture of compliance and reliability, with ongoing monitoring of evolving standards and enforcement trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, communications, computer science, business, or related field; Advanced degree preferred (for a higher grade)
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible positions in electric utility or similarly regulated industry (Lead level)
  • Experience in NERC compliance or similar regulatory compliance preferred
  • Valid driver’s license (for Principal role)
  • Professional certifications desirable (PE, PSE, CISSP, CISA, CRISC)
