Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and renal function evaluations. Assist in the diagnosis and management of kidney-related conditions such as chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and end-stage renal disease. Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests including blood work, urinalysis, and imaging studies. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising nephrologist. Prescribe medications, educate patients on dietary modifications, and coordinate care with dialysis centers and transplant teams. Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records and stay current with nephrology advancements through continuing medical education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active New York State license
- Board-certified or board-eligible
- At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant
- Proficient in patient assessment
- Proficient in diagnostic test interpretation
- Proficient in medication management
- Proficient in electronic health records
- Strong clinical judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
