Job Summary
Nephrology Physician Assistant in Bronx, NY providing outpatient nephrology care within a multi-specialty practice. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and renal function evaluations; assist in diagnosis and management of kidney-related conditions (CKD, hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, glomerulonephritis, ESRD). Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests (blood work including creatinine, BUN, GFR; urinalysis; imaging). Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with supervising nephrologist; prescribe antihypertensives, diuretics, and phosphate binders as appropriate. Educate patients and families on kidney disease management and dietary modifications; coordinate care with dialysis centers, transplant teams, and other specialists. Maintain thorough EHR documentation; stay current with nephrology through CME and collaboration with supervising physicians. Flexible schedules available; open to full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days for Part-time).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active New York State license
- Board-certified or board-eligible
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant
- Nephrology experience is a plus but not required
- Proficient in patient assessment, diagnostic test interpretation, medication management, and electronic health records
- Willingness to learn nephrology-specific procedures and treatments
