Job Summary
Join University Health and UMA as a board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in nephrology. Hybrid role with split between inpatient and outpatient care. Provide patient-centered nephrology care, manage acute and chronic kidney disease, collaborate with nephrologists and multidisciplinary teams, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Requires NP/PA program graduation, Texas NP/PA licensure and certification, prescriptive authority, BLS, and DEA within 90 days. Two or more years of direct nephrology experience preferred; 3+ years nursing experience with 2+ years advanced practice preferred. Based in San Antonio, TX with Pleasanton, TX area listing; in-state licensure and current certifications required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Current Texas RN and APRN license (for NPs) or Texas PA license
- National certification, prescriptive authority, and AHA BLS (or higher) certification as required by Medical-Dental Staff Bylaws
- A valid DEA number within 90 days of hire
