Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and manage kidney-related conditions including chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, and electrolyte disorders while providing comprehensive care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Oversee dialysis patients at UPMC Hamot and prepare patients for kidney transplantation, contributing to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional renal care. Manage an outpatient clinic census of approximately 12 patients daily and an inpatient census of 20–25 patients daily. Maintain a call schedule of 1:4 with an average night call volume of 0–2 calls.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO from an accredited medical school
- American Board Eligible, American Board Certified or Canadian Board Certified in Nephrology
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License
- Ability to obtain necessary credentials
- DEA certification
- A commitment to patient-centered care
- Excellent interpersonal skills
