Job Summary
Manage staff and project-level cultural resources specialists to develop Environmental Assessments, Impact Statements, and consultation documents for Department of Defense services. Provide cultural resources and environmental reviews, including field investigations, cost estimating, and scheduling, while conducting technical reviews of professional studies and reports. Collaborate with managers, archaeologists, and legal staff to resolve complex compliance issues under Section 106, NEPA, and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act. Prepare scopes of work, respond to requests for proposals, and coordinate archaeological and historic architectural surveys. Draft NEPA documents and manage correspondence with regulatory agencies, State Historic Preservation Officers, and federally recognized Tribes. This hybrid role requires 5 to 10 years of specialized experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a secret security clearance, with 25% annual travel.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of specialized experience that includes preparing NEPA documents for DoD and other federal agencies
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in biological sciences, cultural resources, natural resource management, or other scientific discipline
- Experience preparing Purchase Requests, Scopes of Work and Estimates for contracting environmental services such as Biological Assessments and Cultural Resource Surveys
- Experience in supporting consultation with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Strong project management and client coordination skills
- Excellent technical writing and document review capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain and hold a secret security clearance
- US Citizenship
- Travel, including potential overnight travel, will be required for minimum of 25% per year
- Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner
- May include lifting weight up to thirty {30} pounds as necessary
