Job Summary
Full-time Neonatologist/Medical Director sought for the NICU at Waterbury Hospital. Board Certified/Board Eligible neonatologist will serve as Medical Director overseeing clinical pathway and guideline development, advanced nursing/practitioner education, quality improvement, outcomes tracking, and budgetary planning. Role involves collaboration with obstetric providers, nursing leadership, Waterbury Hospital, and Connecticut Children’s. Clinical duties include care of infants in a 10-bed Level II NICU and newborns in the well-baby nursery, with a delivery service of ~1100 births per year and 24/7 advanced practitioner coverage with at-home neonatology call. The unit is part of a state-wide transport service for infants requiring more advanced care. Waterbury, CT is described as a 90-mile northeast of NYC area with regional access to medical education and downtown Hartford. The position combines clinical leadership with administrative responsibilities in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
- Medical Doctor or DO licensed to practice in CT
- Experience in NICU management or medical leadership preferred
- Clinical duties in Level II NICU and newborn nursery
