Job Summary
Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist position in Elmhurst, IL requiring MD licensure in IL and pediatric residency with ABP eligibility. The role involves providing comprehensive medical care to newborns in L&D, the newborn nursery, and the NICU, collaborating with the neonatology team, and independently managing deliveries and neonatal care. Key duties include ensuring accurate medical records, performing procedures such as PPV, intubation, central lines, and chest tubes, participating in quality improvement and policy development, and contributing to clinical research. Hours are 24/7 with flexible scheduling; the department seeks a physician with 5+ years of IP newborn or relevant acute pediatric experience and strong neonatal procedural skills. Required Qualifications
- MD licensure in Illinois (IL)
- Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substances License required
- Completion of accredited pediatric residency or equivalent Master’s level program in pediatric specialty
- BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications required
- American Board of Pediatrics eligibility
- Experience: 5+ years IP newborn or relevant acute pediatric experience preferred
- Newborn airway management including intubation
- Central line placement (umbilical and peripheral)
- Newborn chest tube placement
- Commitment to providing care in L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU
