Job Summary
Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist at Elmhurst Hospital (Level IIe NICU) providing comprehensive newborn care across L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU with autonomous practice and collaboration within the neonatal team. Responsibilities include delivery room resuscitation, management of common newborn diagnoses, and long-term care for late preterm infants; perform procedures (PPV, intubation, central lines, chest tubes); maintain medical records; contribute to policy development, QI initiatives, and potential clinical research; 24/7 unit coverage with support from a neonatology team; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality neonatal care.
Required Qualifications
- MD Licensure in IL
- Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substances License
- Accredited pediatric residency or master's level program in specialty area
- BLS and NRP certifications
- American Board of Pediatrics eligible
- 5+ years IP Newborn (highly preferred) or other relevant acute care pediatric experience
Desired Qualifications
- MD licensure in Illinois
- Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substances Licenses
- Completion of accredited pediatric residency or master's level program in specialty area
- BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications
- American Board of Pediatrics eligible
- 5+ years IP Newborn or other relevant acute care pediatric experience preferred
- Newborn airway management including intubation
- Central line placement (umbilical and PCVC)
- Newborn chest tube placement
- Experience working in L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU settings
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a neonatology team
- Commitment to quality improvement and potential clinical research participation
