Job Summary
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Full Time) to join a physician-led multispecialty group’s NICU teams in Boise and Nampa, Idaho. Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries and facilitating NICU admissions, co-managing NICU patients with Neonatologists, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, and providing active management strategies (ventilator management, nutrition, labs, imaging) while updating families. Staffing includes Level 3 in Boise with 16-hour in-house NNP coverage (4pm–8am) and Level 2 in Nampa with 24-hour shifts (on-site minimum 4 hours, rest on-call). Ideal candidates have NP graduate training with RN and APRN licensure, current NP licensure, and board certification in NNP preferred; DEA and Idaho medical licensure and privileges at SARMC-SAMC are required. The role emphasizes practicing evidence-based medicine, teamwork, transformational care, and teaching clinicians. The Boise/Nampa NICUs support 250+ annual NICU admissions and 1400+ annual births in the related maternity centers.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner program with current RN licensure and APRN licensure
- Current NP licensure and (preferred) board certification as Neuro NICU NP
- Current DEA and Idaho medical licensure
- Granting of privileges at SARMC - Boise and SAMC - Nampa
- Experience or fellowship/residency in neonatal care (Level III/IV NICU) or 3 years minimum experience in Level III/IV NICU
- Ability to attend high-risk deliveries and co-manage NICU patients
- Participation in multidisciplinary rounds and newborn care management
- Ability to perform ventilator management, nutritional adjustments, lab and radiology review
- Teaching and staff education responsibilities
