Job Summary
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (APP) in Neonatology at Elmhurst Hospital seeks an APRN to work with neonatology physicians and an interdisciplinary team. The role involves delivery room resuscitation, newborn diagnosis and management, and long-term care for late preterm infants, functioning autonomously as well as collaboratively. Key duties include procedural tasks (PPV, intubation, central lines, chest tubes), maintaining accurate medical records, participating in quality improvement initiatives, policy development and review, and opportunities to engage in clinical research. Requires IL APRN licensure, DEA and Illinois Controlled Substances License, NCC certification as Neonatal NP, BLS and NRP certifications, and 5+ years of relevant IP newborn or pediatric experience. Required Qualifications
- License: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of IL
- Federal DEA license and Illinois Controlled Substances License
- Master's degree in specialty area
- Certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications
- Certification in specialty: NCC Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
- Experience: 5+ years of IP Newborn or other relevant acute pediatric experience preferred
- Newborn airway management including intubation
- Central line placement (umbilical and PCVC)
- Newborn chest tube placement
