Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for neonatal patients and families at Children's Mercy's Level IV NICU and partner facilities. Serve as a clinical resource for the healthcare team's education and consultation needs while obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations, and formulating care plans. Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribe medications, and make appropriate referrals. Participate in patient and family education, collaborate with sub-specialties, and actively lead performance improvement activities with an emphasis on quality improvement and clinical research. Demonstrate clinical leadership by incorporating best current evidence to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients within the collaborative practice agreement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- APRN compact license in primary residency state or single state RN license in MO and KS if not in a compact state
- MO and KS APRN licensure
- National Board Certification
- APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting
- Life Support Certifications
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Willingness to be vaccinated for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Drug screen acceptance
