Job Summary

Maintain utmost confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies while accepting and coordinating total care for a specific caseload of neonatal patients. Obtain maternal and infant health histories, perform daily physical assessments, and order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies. Diagnose and treat neonatal disease processes, prescribe and manage medications and therapies, and document daily diagnoses and plan of care updates. After concurrence with the attending neonatologist, make referrals to specialty physicians and facilitate the continuum of care through close coordination with the neonatologist, case manager, bedside nurse, and family.

Required Qualifications

  • Current certification and licensure as a RN/Advanced Practitioner Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Texas Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Licensed to practice as NNP or Student NNP in the State of Texas
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certified
  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Significant knowledge and experience within the neonatal service area

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters Degree
