Job Summary
Nurse Educator collaborates with Nursing Professional Development Specialist and Clinical Nurse Specialist to develop, deliver, and evaluate education and training for unit staff; plans, teaches orientation, in-services, and continuing education programs; focuses on adult learning principles, quality improvement, accreditation/licensing requirements, and staff competency; develops materials and evaluates educational programs to support safe patient care and professional nursing practice on the unit; serves as a role model and contributes to staff development and knowledge Maintenance in the assigned clinical area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Active California RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Three years of RN clinical experience
- Master's degree in Nursing or Enrollment in MSN/Master in Education program with expected degree completion within specified timeframe
- MSN in Nursing Education or Master in Education acceptable if completed within five years of job acceptance
- Knowledge of nursing standards and education pedagogy
- Computer skills (MS Office)
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Ability to manage time and prioritize
