Job Summary
Manage a diverse portfolio of affordable housing tenancies by conducting home visits, property inspections, and wellbeing checks to support customers and maintain successful tenancies. Resolve complex matters including rent arrears, breaches, and domestic violence reporting while representing Hume in NCAT proceedings. Build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders to address compliance, arrears, and responsible conduct issues in line with NSW Affordable Housing Ministerial Guidelines and the Residential Tenancies Act. Maintain accurate tenancy records across relevant systems and apply legislation to tenancy decisions. This 6-month opportunity suits experienced housing professionals with a driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in community services, housing, tenancy management or a similar environment
- An understanding of affordable housing eligibility and rent-setting principles, with the ability to apply the NSW Affordable Housing Ministerial Guidelines
- An understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and NCAT processes
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders
- The ability to manage sensitive and complex matters with empathy, professionalism and sound judgement
- Strong administration and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- A current NSW Driver Licence and access to an insured vehicle
