Job Summary
The Neighborhood Engagement Specialist coordinates and supports Englewood’s Neighborhood Program activities to promote quality of life. The role maintains engagement with neighborhood groups, connects residents to city resources, facilitates communication between residents and city staff, and helps identify opportunities for neighborhood-level engagement, events, and initiatives. Core duties include organizing outreach events (Neighborhood Nights), tracking performance measures and budgets, supporting resident-led initiatives, coordinating with schools, businesses, and civic groups to foster partnerships, and providing culturally responsive customer service. The position requires strong interpersonal, facilitation, and written/oral communication skills, plus the ability to work with diverse communities and support inclusive engagement practices. Occasional after-hours public meetings and travel within the community are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social science, public administration, human relations, community development or related field
- Two to four years professional experience in community relations or development, neighborhood organizing, public administration, nonprofit community services, community group facilitation, coordinating and problem-solving
- Equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted
- Ability to obtain IAP2 Foundations Certification within one year of hire
- Valid Colorado Driver's License
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) translation and interpretation skills strongly desired
