Job Summary
Provide direct care and transportation to residents in a residential healthcare setting. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing), lifting and transferring individuals using proper body mechanics and assistive devices, maintaining a clean, organized living environment, implementing behavior management strategies, respecting resident rights and privacy, driving residents to appointments and activities, safely transporting patients to medical locations, and documenting transportation activities per facility policies. Must have reliable transportation, clean background, BLS certification, 2+ years of caregiving experience, and CPR certification eligibility; strong communication and compassionate demeanor required; ability to handle physically demanding tasks and adhere to HIPAA and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong understanding of patient care procedures and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and assisting patients with mobility
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Valid and up to date car insurance
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate patient schedules
- Must pass background checks and adhere to all health and safety regulations
- 2+ years experience
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies
- Clean background
- Do a required TB test
- Must be 18 years or older with 2+ years of experience
- Must be able to get a CPR certification
- Must have reliable transportation
